Dear Srk,
waht happens when you try to print? do you get blank pages, does it react, etc.
So you do not even get the printer to respond?
Does the printer even make reset noises and lights come on when you click on print?
I think you missed me...when you attempt to print from the word perfect document, does the machine at least come alive?
Yes, I am still with you.
The problem may not be with the printer. It seems to me that it is likely a problem with the configuration of corel's word perfect software.
The following trouble shooting for your problem is provided by Corel's, techical support team, by permission.
It is recommended that you test WordPerfect after each section of this article.
In many cases, a jammed print queue will prevent WordPerfect from opening or will cause the application to stall while attempting to print. Before doing anything else, verify that the print queue is clear. To do this, follow the instructions below:
When trying to initialize its print engine, WordPerfect will retrieve page definitions from all of your printers to evaluate if your printer can print the document being processed. If there are any printers that are listed as Offline or Unable to Connect, than WordPerfect might experience a delay while initializing the print engine.
WordPerfect stores some printer specific information. WordPerfect may not print as expected if this information is not synchronized with the printer. To restore this information, the WordPerfect print engine must be restored to it's factory defaults.
This section involves modifying the Windows Registry. It is recommended that you back up your registry before proceeding with this step. Click Here for important information about the Windows Registry.
In many cases, WordPerfect will hang for long periods of time while its trying to communicate with a particular printer driver. This can sometimes be rather evident if the printer driver happens to be a network printer, or if the network printer is not hooked up to the computer. In order to troubleshoot this kind of problem, you will need to remove your printer drivers to rule this out.
NOTE: Before proceeding, it is recommended that you download the latest drivers from your printer manufacturer's website so that you can re-install the printer. If you have Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows ME, you might also require your Windows CD.

I understand your hesitancy.
Ok so do this: go ahead and uninstall and reinstall WP11.
then go to corel and run updates for the product. you may have to contact their tech support to direct you to the update file. Their website is difficult to navigate.
If then that does not work, your next step would be to contact corel tech support to help you trouble shoot it.
Your last resort will be to contact epson to see if there is a workaround for the issue. My suspicion is, that the problem could be that wp still uses some dos, that is not recognized by epson.
Start with the word perfect fix, before contacting epson.
SPECIAL NOTE: I noticed you said that you had windows 2000 with IE. You need to know that windows 2000 mainstream support was discontinued by MS and entered the phase of extended support in June of 2005. This means that right now, windows 2000 is only supported with security updates util 2010. This is important, because this also means that third part software and firm ware providers are starting to not include products compatable with windows 2000. Most software products have a 5 year life cycle. It could be that, your latest version of WP is not fully compatible in a windows 2000 environment. If you are not able to get this working with the fixes and suggested tech support provided, then you may need to consider upgrading to Windows XP or Windows XP professional. I do not recommend Visat at this time, as there are still bugs being reported with this operating system.
No, you are entitled to followup quesitions until the time runs out.
What time allowance are you meaing? You have 21 hours left on this quesion, but you can have it extended.
let me know how you make out with service pack 1.
Go ahead and install WP11.
This sounds like one of the drivers is not loading. -a DLL file is a dynamic link library (DLL) file which is a collection of small programs, which can be called upon when needed by the executable program (EXE) that is running. The DLL lets the executable communicate with a specific device such as a printer or may contain source code to do particular functions.
This may be the problem. There are website that allow you to down load missing dll files, but I would rather see you use tech support for corel to do that.
Sometimes when you down load the service packs for your product, missing dll's are replaced. Go ahead and down load service pack two, and if that does not solve your problem, then I will have to refer you the tech support for your product.
however, this fairly determines that the problem is not the printer at th is point. It is the software. your software files are seemingly corrupt, which is often a function of a malware or virus resident on the machine.
Your virus and spyware may not be able to detect it. (I like pc tools spyware doctor).
Dear srk,
I got your message, thank you very much.
