I have a 4 or 5 yr. old Pomerrainan, she started vomiting on Sunday, diahrea also, the vomiting has stopped, but her bowels are sill really loose. I gave here a 1/2 teaspoon of pepto. Should I take away her food and water tonight and see what happens in the morning?

Answer

I would do that. When you do reintroduce food, be sure and make it something bland like boiled chicken and rice.

If you don't see any improvement, you will want to see the vet for a fecal exam to rule out a parasite problem and a general exam to rule out an intestinal obstruction.
