Question

My son-in-law was terminated by a large national retail chain 10 days ago. He was not provided with any paperwork to include a termination letter or instructions on where and how to extend his health insurance through COBRA. He as asked several times for the letter of termination so that he and his 8 1/2 month pregnant wife can apply for Medicaid. What should his rights have been and who can we contact to move things along so my daughter can get Medicade rights?

My son-in-law has contacted the district manager for the termination letter twice. I need to know what the employer was required to do in order to have an educated conversation with the personnel office. I'm assuming they will have to pay for this Cobra insurance and we don't know how much or where this payment is required to be sent to and what the time limit is.

The other is am employee's guide. The employer does have 30 days to send the info, but please have him review all this information:
