Question

Hello: I recently purchased a 1997 Jaguar XK8 with 26,000 original miles. I noticed that when I would shut the doors, the power windows would close tightly. Just today, when I open the driver''s door, the window inches down and the latch appears to stick. If I keep pulling on the latch (both inside and out) the window inches down. How expensive of a repair will this be??? Thank-you very much for your time. Jim

Hello and welcome to justanswer.com

I want you to try to reset your windows and see if they hold the memory. First lower your windows and hold the both switches in the down position til you here a click from both doors. Then raise your windows and hold both switches in the up position til you hear a click from the door. This restes the window memory. If this works you may want to have your battery checked. Low voltage causes the windows to lose memory. Since it looks like your Jag is not driven much a low battery is most likely the cause of the windows losing memory.

Hopefully this answers your question and you accept. Positive feedback is appreciated and please let me know if I can assist you with anything else.

Amazing! It is working as it did before!! It has been at the local Ford dealership to have ball joints replaced; perhaps that contributed. But I will have the battery check as well. This was an Ebay purchase, but since the miles were CarFax certifed, I was hoping I was OK.

This is the first time I ever used this site and I thank you for you prompt response!!
