Question

Ok, here is the deal. I have a ''03 Chrysler 300M. I had oil changed @110,006 miles. 2800 miles later, my engine just blew up. My mechanic put the car on lift & and removed the oil pan. Holy mackerel, you would not believe all the metal & debris in the bottom of the oil pan! Oil still in motor & no engine light or oil light to give any warning, she just decentrigated. The motor is the 3.5 liter high output. Any one have an idea of what failed to cause this much internal damage. I have already located a used engine which will cost me about 3 grand installed. Mechanic did not have a clue of what broke inside the motor.
