is it safe to give cephalexin to my 3 month old maltese-female?When I got her on the pet store this past saturday it was given to me for the puppy.

In direct answer to your question : Cephalexin is a safe and commonly prescribed antibiotic in the dog.

It is a wide spectrum antibiotic useful in treating skin conditions and urinary tract diseases. Of course antibiotics should only be given where there is a very good reason to do so and some antibiotics are better at treating some diseases than others.

SO EVEN THOUGH MY VET. SAY NOT TO GIVE IT TO HER I WILL CONTINUE. I WOULD LIKE HER TO BE SAFE AND HEALTHY. THE LABEL SAYS TO GIVE TO HER 2X A DAY 0.7ML FOR 10 DAYS.
