i heard that you could feed your dogs sulfer and or garlic to get rid of fleas it this so if so how much do you feed them

No it is not true that either of those works to get rid of fleas. It is a myth that has been busted over and over again but people still think it might work.
You may find a combination of products will work for you to clear out the fleas though.
Frontline on the dog will kill any fleas on the dog and those that get on the dog over the next month.
Spraying the floors, rugs, furniture in your home with a product such as Zodiac Fleatrol with Precor insect growth regultor

will kill adult fleas and keep baby fleas from growing up to the biting stage. The floor spray works for over 200 days.
