Hi Sparklplenty,

You might want to try glucosamine chondroitin (a supplement) and see if that helps him along with deramaxx. You can read about this here:

I would not get rimadyl and would be careful to watch for side effects with deramaxx as well. Rimadyl has been known to have adverse reactions in Labs.   Read about this here:

So I would be sure to have any routine bloodwork done if your dog starts taking prescription pain medication. I hope this informaiton is helpful to you.
