Hi n,
Thank you for using Just Answer. I'm sorry that you're having a problem with your washer.
When you say "there are times when i manualy twist it then it will spin"... do mean that you twist the washer's timer switch?
I can tell you how to remove the cabinet. However, I will need to have the model number. Please post the model number. You will find when you open the washer's lid. It will be on a sticker that is where the lid meets the cabinet.
I think that you may have a faulty timer and that is why it does not spin consistently when it should.

That looks like a serial number. Most washer model numbers start with 3 letters. Please check again.
Also, that twisting thing question..... it's timer that you twist to sometimes get it to go into the spin... right?
Also, another expert here (Smithy) has reminded me that a common issue with any washer not spinning is that the lid switch is faulty. You might easily do a quick check of this by "playing with" the lid and/or switch to see if that allows the washer to go into spin. Thank you Smithy.
I understood the information differently. With this description I would lean toward the switch in the lid being more likely the guilty culprit. That is what you want to check first.
Check that the lid switch makes a click sound when you close the lid. See if it appears to be mechanically sound. Then you would remove the switch to check for continuity to be sure it works electrically. You would do this with a multi-meter.
You could also (more simply) try to get the washer to go into the spin cycle by playing with the lid switch
The switch is item #11 on this diagram -
Let me know if you need any more information.
Can you get the machine to go into spin by manipulating the lid switch? If so, that would confirm the lid switch as the problem.
We would in (any case) test the switch electrically to be sure we eliminate it as a possible cause.
Diagnosing a problem requires going thru each item and testing it to confirm you either have the gulity culprit or not.
We would like it to be the lid switch because it is easier than some of the other possible causes to repair! However, it doesn't always work that way.
If you would like to send me an email at ACCLaska@yahoo.com I have an PDF file of a service repair manual that I can attach to an email back to you. This will give you step by step procedures to follow.
I'm leaving in an hour and I will be back late tonight.
That's a good start. Have you checked these (from the service manual)-
Clothes between the inner basket and outer tub?
Wiring harness - check that all connections are secure - check for continuity?
Timer switches - check for continuity?
From here it goes inside the gearcase and this is more detailed.
