OW!! Fireant bites can hurt!! The first thing I would do is to put ice on it to ease the swelling and discomfort. As long as her general health is good and she has no underlying medical problems which would preclude the use of an antihistamine, it is quite alright to give a dog that size about 25mg of benedryl. It is ok to give the benedryl even though you've already given her the aspirin. If the pain/discomfort continues or if swelling and pain occur in other areas of the body, I would recommend you take her in to your veterinarian. Sometimes insect bites can cause systemic allergic reactions in the dog ... these can become life threatening if the respiratory system is involved. These are rare (but possible) sequelae to fire ant bites but it never hurts to be completely vigilant. I hope she feels better soon!!
