Hello,

Your description of what has happened to your cat's right eye may be attributed to a variety of causes, but sometimes, in an older cat, this can be caused by high blood pressure due to kidney disease or hyperthyroidism. A detached retina is also possible, regarding the appearance of the pupil.

If you are referring to her iris (colored part) appearing darker, this can be caused by a condition called 'iris melanoma'.

It would be a good idea to bring your cat to the vet, so he can be evaluated in person, and you can obtain a definite diagnosis. A referral might be needed to a veterinary ophthalmologist, so discuss this with your vet. If you need to locate a specialist in your area, try this (if you're in the USA):

Once your cat is evaluated, I'm sure that all possible treatments will be prescribed in an effort to restore your cat's eye health, and his vision, if it has been adversely affected.

I hope all will be well!
