We received a ticket for having our dog off the leash while we were there with her. She is a very sweet 30lb mixed Lhasa Apso. Can you please tell me what the codes/ordinances for having an unleashed dog in a rural setting in Middle Township, New Jersey? We've been doing it for the past 30 years and never had any problems in the past.

Hi Cheryl,
Thank you for requesting my help. Did the ticket list a contact person and phone number? I tried to find something regarding dog ordinances on the Middle Township website, but was unsuccessful.

But I do know that many cities and towns have a dog ordinance that requires dogs to be licensed and on leash at all times. You may also be able to contact your local Animal Control Department and find out what dog ordinances are in effect for your location.

I was hoping for the fee that I paid that you could find out what the codes and ordanances were. You told me what I already know. I thought for the fee you would actually know the answers for me. Court is coming up.
