Answer
there are sooo many tunners out there! they all claim this and that. your best bet is to do some research and figure out what you wanna do with the truck, and how far you are gonna mod it. Just these simple stuff? My self i would go for the tunner first, i work at a GMC dealer and i see guys bring in trucks "modded" and check engine lights to go with it. Stock pcm programing doesnt like the mods, it see more air with the intakes and depending on what type of exshaust system, cat back, full, high flow cats, they will set other codes as well, and the dealer that you bring it too will not wanranty this. But if you get a programer that you can change and update as you up date the truck with more mods you can get rid of this issue! The new pcm calibrations will make up for the mod and keep lights off and you happy. hope this helps, as far as the companies, the top ones all are about the same, its all in what you like, and who you talk too! Look around and see what they offer and you can make your own choise. Hope this helped!
