Reply to NancyH's Post: My kitten has started to act weird. She runs around the house pouncing at invisible things. When we go to be she attacks us, even when we are asleep, we have had to start putting her in the bathroom so that we can sleep. When we are petting her she starts biting. I have a three year old and she has bitten her a couple of times. I was wondering if there was something that I could give her that would calm her down.

Sounds like your kitten needs more exercise or a playmate of her own species.
You might try some play sessions with a toy that make her really tired out.
Normally cats claw at things but if she is biting that can be really rough play and trying to get a response. Or if you declawed her she may be biting due to the claw loss.
There really is not a medication that would be specifically to keep the cat from acting like a cat. However you may want to have your vet check her over to make sure the issue is not intestinal parasites, or a health problem making her more 'antsy' and irritable.
Cats very often are extra active at night.
Many people find that adding a second friendly and gentle kitten does a lot to calm down the 'hyper' cat as once the cat has someone who can play rough and wild with her she doesn't need to do that with people. Usually a neutered cat of the opposite sex works best. If you can't do that then you need to provide structured acceptable play to help tire the kitten out.
