Here is my situation: I have a Co-worker who is Now in SALES and works out of state but...left behind his "old beater" (1994 530iT Wagon) Here is a short list of things that I found to be a red flag: 1) Sunroof leaks, 2) Motor Oil: color and consistancy of burnt maple syrup. 3) Battery is Dead: so I w/have to see if it w/accept a charge-up so as to start her up and see how it runs...Car sat out in the Las Vegas Desert for about 7 Months....Should I even attempt to make an offer on this car?

The car sounds used and abused and unloved. I recommend a jump start then an oil change. If it turns out to run good then sure I seee no problem in buying this vehicle but expect more concerns to arise from lack of maintenance and the vehicle setting up for so long. I would not offer much. I would work my way up from 500$ assuming it will start and run and run better after an oil change.

(PS: I have already put the battery on charger...doesnt hold over 11.8V...& cells are very weak/shallow....Kaput!)
