Probably, little or none as a practical legal matter unless the evaluation made false, disparaging statements (in which case, you might be able to bring a lawsuit for the manager making the false statements -- but I will caution you that it would likely be a difficult battle and it would certainly hurt your relationship with your manager.)

On the otherhand, you might try approaching your company's HR department to complain. But, be careful. Obviously, your manager may not like you complaining to HR about him/her. And, the reality, in my experience is that HR is not there to protect or help employees. They are there to serve the company. So, unless HR sees it in the best interest of the company, to take some action, they probably won't do much.

Reply to David Halvorson's Post: So this behavior is just accepted and nothing really can be done except what you suggested but would make life extremely difficult. There really should be a law against this and those at fault should be held accountable. This is truly sad.

Answer

I am just offering practical advice.

I agree that sometimes the results are sad but, as I said, you might be able to pursue legal action (if the statements were false) or action within your company (through HR) but I don't think either will be truly effective at least based on the information you have provided.
