2001 E39 with DSC light on since ABS controller rebuilt, now has intermittent yellow light ABS/Brake with an 88 code (recharge pump). How do I test recharge pump to see if its pump or controller, is there an external relay? or does pump have to be removed from hydro block?

rebuilt controller twice, dumped codes, cleaned contacts. light sometimes comes on at startup, sometimes while driving

I've never had one of the "rebuilt" ABS~DSC modules work Personally, I'd install a OE repair kit and call it good.
