Hi, welcome to Just Answer.

  1. How many miles are on this BMW?
  2. Is the red lamp on the dash in front of you? Is it on even when the ignition key is out?
  3. Is the fan running inside the car or from under the hood?
  4. Did the fan runnning and red lamp both begin together?

Answer

Thanks, sounds like you have a typical Blower Regulator failure. It's ok for you to have pulled that fuse and drive the car, it will not affect anything accept the blower motor will not operate. The Blower Regulator is accessed from under the passenger side dash area. This repair will cost around $250 at a reputable BMW repair shop.

thanks no more flat batteries for the moment

Perfect, let me know if you attempt to install the regulator your self, or if you want to be sure it's the problem you can remove the covering under the passenger side of the dash and unplug it...see if the motor is still off when you reinstall the fuse.

And please don't forget to stop back in and press ACCEPT if the information was helpful :)
