my cockatiel has a sore left eye..it''s red and closed... the birds showers with my husband after the shower..we notice redness in his left eye..what can i do to help my poor baby to get better...if sire(my birds name)..got a splash of water from my husband while he was using sope ...would that cause the eye toget sore..if so what can i do to help my bird.

Hello Faith,

You can use saline solution (preservative-free) to rinse your bird's eye several times a day. If the problem is that soap got in the eye, that should take care of it within a couple of days. If the eye doesn't improve quickly, you'll need to take your bird to an avian vet. This link will take you to a directory of vets:
