Accepted Answer

The first part (i), is saying that there is nothing in the waiver that will be a waiver of your rights or claims that arise from the agreement. So if the employer violated the agreement you are not waiving your right to sue under that claim. The second part (ii), is saying that you are not waiving your right to be protected or paid by the employer if you are sued for doing work in your course of employment. So if you do something a customer or other person does not like and tries to sue you, as long as you were doing your job and not acting on your own, the company will pay the fees to defend the suit and any award the person may win against you. It is in your favor to sign.
