Question

I have a 1995 regal rush with a 90 sportjet. When I put it in gear and apply throttle nothing happens until the lever is almost at 90dgrees then it finally starts to engage the carb but by then the cable has ran out. I can see that the cable is moving but the plate that engages the carb isn''t even close to engaging until the throttle is in full position. I am just not sure how to remove the nylon joints so I can adjust the first part of the link. Any help would be great thanks

Answer

Hello. You will want to make that adjustment back at the carb. When you look at it, you should see what is clamping the outside part of the cable (the jacket) - just loosen that and adjust out the slack. There may also be a threaded adjuster that you can turn in to take out some length from the actual cable.
