Answer

Okay, there is a actuator that goes into the front axle with a plug on it. I believe it has two wires, disconnect it and with a test light see if you have power on one of the wires WITH the truck in 4wd high. Let me know what you find. Thanks Eric also the key needs to be on

Their are 2 different sets of 2 wires going into 2 different connections. 1 is about 11/2" x 4" long. the other is 1/2" around x 2" long, neither of these had any power to them.

Answer

its the bigger of the two, it is the actuator that engages the front diff. Okay, should be a black wire(ground) and a light blue wire. The light blue wire should have power on it with key on, also the other little switch should also have a light blue wire that has power. Since you dont have power on either, first check the fuse marked 4wd (25amp) in box on side of dash. If fuse is good, then there is a switch on top of the transfer case. Unplug it and check for power on the brown wire. If you have power there then the odds are that the switch on the transfer case is bad. Let me know what you find. Thanks Eric

Eric the fuse was blown, I changed it and it blew right away again, so what do I check next. Jerry

Answer

Disconnect the transfer case switch , and both switches on the front axle, put in another fuse and see if it blows, if it doesnt then plug the switch in on transfer case first, if it blows then that switch is bad, if it doesnt then leave it plugged in and move to the big actuator on the front axle, plug it in, if the fuse blows then that actuator is bad. The other smaller switch on the front is just for the light on the floor showing you the position of the transfer case, plug it in last if nothing else blows the fuse. Let me know, Thanks Eric
