Answer

Times have changed-but the snake oil sales man still exist. It was possible to alter the fuel mileage of the old cars in the 70's-but with the computer controled cars the O2 sensor is setting the feul mixture at 14.7-1. Putting a additive that will let you run leaner is unlikely-if you look at the ingrediants its made of alscohol that reduces gas mileage. There are only a few products that work to clean injectors -add octane, but not will add to gas mileage.Like pt batnum said-there is a sucker born every minute and at $4 a gallon people get desperate.

Frank....Did you check the Ethnos e-mail ad? It was even plugged on an NBC television newscast, which seemed to give it credibility.    Joe

I can remeber back 40 years and theese products come and go over the years-the so called endorsed products still do not work. The reality of the world is that oil runs it and any product that would actual work would be bought up tp either keep it off of the market or incorporated to the gas-Wouldn't you buy gas from a supplier that gives you 20 % better mileage then another? When people get desperate they belive in anything- therorie and teseting is differnt from actaul real life testing. And some of the aditive are down right damageing to the injectors and fuel pump. From what I read-it claims 7-19% improvement-but swutching from reformalated gas blends does that already,Also ther have been professionally trements around for years that will clean the injectors and deposits off of the internal engine.Look at the shell comercial for deposits on valves-if you take a engine that had been running low grade oil and fuel then clean the injectors, decarbon it and use the lastest graded fuel economy oil the mile age will go up.I know of a few poeplw that get 25-27 mpg in late modle chevy trucks with out any fancy fuel additive.
