What year model and engine. That code is a voltage of the egr potion sensor out of range-your going to have to have a scanner to check the operation-but check the wiring harness buy the ebcm on the drivers fender for chafing.frank39560.8710217245

Answer

Your going to have to use a scanner to check the system-but check the wiring harness for rubbing against the brake modulator mounting bracket on the drivers inner fender. The code is for egr sensor postion feedback.

Reply to frank's Post: the wireing harness is still straped in good and there is no chafing. what will the scaner tell me and how could the voltage be off to the egr valve? thanks

Answer

You need to see the egr postion sensor voltage and what the desired vs actual voltage is.With the right bidirectional scanner you can command the egr open and close to see if it is working-you can also test the 5 volt reference and sensor return back to the ecm. With out a scanner your shooting in the dark.

Answer

If it does not respond-the control ciruit of the valve needs to be checked first before replacing anymore parts.

Reply to frank's Post: at idle in drive(like you are driving around a parking lot without giving it gas, it feels like it is idled up to high) i have to pat the acclerator to idle it down

Accepted Answer

Once again you need a scanner-if the tps voltage is off it can do that-but you need to see the parameters and the comands from the computer.
