My 2000 Mustang GT has become very difficult to shift, it is an auto trans. The linkages have been lubed both inside and under the car. Any suggestions

..HELLO!
You say that the linkages have been lubed in and out. How did you lube the inside linkage? RSVP

I lubed inside the car but that wasn't the problem. I lubed under the car by adjacent to the transmission shift mechanism which was dry and that didn't help. I lubed above where the cable comes out of the inside of the tranny tunnel and that didn't help. The cable seems to be designed to be sealed and can not be lubed, does that need replacement?

..HELLO!
You're right about the cable being sealed. Replace the cable.
