Question

Can I do the due claws on our cockerspaniel pups myself? They are one week old today. We did the tails at 3 days old and they have always come out beautiful. If I can do the due claws, How do I do it?

Can we breed her and have pups at this age. She is in great shape

Answer

The dew claws should have been done the same time as the tails.
This site discusses dew claw removal and scroll past the ad for all info

This site discusses banding of tails and has a picture on dew claw removal.

And here is a video of the dew claw removal and electric cautery of blood vessels

the 'yelling' is because the pup does not want to be upside down not from the cutting which they are pretty quiet about as you can see in more than one spot and you will see the pups stop fussing when turned right side up.
Here is another method

Problems include claws that are well attached being hard to remove and the area bleeding after they are removed.
You seem to have a second question on breeding a 9 year old dog. I would not do that without a full vet check up including blood work to make sure her liver, kidneys, and heart are all working OK. The strain of a pregnancy on failing organs could be too much for her.
Hope this helps you!
