Hi, welcome to just Answer.

Honestly, it would be better to purchase a new emblem from the dealer, the new ones come with a special sticky backing that can be easily installed and will give the correct depth appearance. Otherwise you can adhere the original one with 3M spray adhesive, but there's a chance it may not hold well. You'll need to spray the adhesive onto both the emblem and the car sparingly and be sure both surfaces are cleaned before the application.

Answer

We use a special string to cut through the adhesive, but you can use a long piece of floss. Just get the floss tight and "saw" it back and forth behind the ring until the adhesive is cut completely through.
