Hello,

Once you get HPV it is not that you will always have HPV in your body .

Our immune system usually clears it in months or years.

However if there is immunodeficiency the clearance may be impaired.

There is no treatment for the virus itself, but a healthy immune system can usually fight off HPV naturally. But there are treatments for the diseases that HPV can cause.like genital warts or early cervical changes of cancer .

I hope this will satisfy your query. If you need further clarifications, I will be happy to explain you.

Answer

HPV may be in latent phase for years during which no symptoms may be there .

During these period genital HPV can be passed on through genital contact.

A person can have HPV even if years have passed since he or she had sex.

Most infected persons do not realize they are infected & pass the virus to a sex partner.

The HPV test on the market is only used as part of cervical cancer screening. There is no general test for men or women to check for HPV status.

He may be examined by a doctor to find if there is any wart .

Individuals can lower their chances of getting HPV by being in a mutually faithful relationship with someone who has had no or few sex partners.

For those who are not in long-term mutually monogamous relationships, limiting the number of sex partners and choosing a partner less likely to be infected usually lower the risk of HPV.

But it may not be possible to determine if a partner who has been sexually active in the past is currently infected or not.

Thank you .
