  • Have you since charged the battery or boosted it or replaced it?
  • Is the clicking sound still apparent after the battery is back to the correct voltage?

I haven't changed the battery. I boosted it Friday and it started OK. No noises or anything.

When it did not start today I bought a new battery but I have not replaced it yet. I noticed the clicking and I tried to start it again. Still dead but I did notice the clicking stops when the ignition key is in the on or start postion.

Accepted Answer

This clicking noise is being caused by the lack of power and modules and relays are turning off and on trying to energize. During this if you use any power by using the headlights or turning the ignition or applying the brakes this will zap what remaining power you have and cause the clicking to stop. This is a normal concern for a weak battery.
