it was taken out of my wifes pay ck every pay period she had a heart attack 9 yrs ago and went legally blind after quad bypass her diabetes caused retina detachment in 1 eye and has been receiving long term disability thx 4 ur help

Was it taken out before tax or after tax? You need to find out from your wife's paystub?

I think in most case it should be after tax deduction.

Hence the disability payments received by her will not be taxable.
