Accepted Answer

Even tho the engine only has 60000 miles on it Its not likely you have a restricted fuel line. I would start with replacing the fuel filter ( every 30k) and have the mechanic take a look at the plug boots. This sounds like an engine miss.

Answer

No there is nothing between the pump and the engine but the fuel filter.
