Hi XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.
Thank you for asking your question on Just Answer.
Let start with the check engine light first, to determine why its coming on you will need a code scan and this will give you an idea what needs attention, that being said at 100,000 miles the engine is ready for new spark plugs and plug boots as well as a new fuel filter. I would also replace the PCV valve and while your doing that, follow the hose around to where it hook to the upper intake and have a look at the rubber elbow as they are famous for rotting out and leaking. I would also have the injectors cleaned
professionally and clean the throttle body bore as well. You can use carb cleaner to do this with. Then remove the positive battery cable for 10 minutes as this will reset the PCM (computer). This may very well resolve your concern.
The codes have to be accessed thru a code scanner. Most part stores will do the scan at no cost.
