Question

my 2004 z4 has the sport package, and run flats. the ride is really rough, whats the one thing i can do to fix this? ive heard people changing the tires, or maybe softer shocks?

One thing that you can do, but is not recommended by BMW is put on non run-flat tires. The biggest reason why this is not recommended is because you do not have a spare tire. The reason why the non run-flats run a little better is because those tires have an extra stiff side wall. Another thing that you can do is put a smaller wheel and tire on. For example if you have 18" wheels and tires putting on 17" or 16" wheels and tires increase the side wall height of the tire, making the ride less rough. And once again getting non run-flats in those tire sizes will make the ride even better. Check you dealer, or aftermarket wheel supplier to see which wheels would work for you.
Another note to keep in mind is that a narrower tire will track the road less (ie follow the groves in the road). These items will help the rough riding the most. Changing out the suspension will help less, and cost more.
