Answer

Hello Mike,

I was just looking at the schematic for the Bravada, and they offer two different types of radio. One with an external amp, and one without. If you have the radio without an amp, I didn't see any amp signal wire. If you do have the amp version, the amplifier signal wire is green, and is coming out of terminal f3 at the back of the radio. It sounds to me like you have the non-amplified version. You may wan't to ask a radio install shop how to signal an aftermarket amp with the factory head.

im talking about putting a aftermarket amp into my stock radio, not a factory amp. i have another factory cd player but i dont know how to connect it with my six disc changer that came with the car stock. its a 2000 bravada platinum edition. does that help specify the model of cd player i have?

Answer

What I was saying is that the Bravada comes from the factory with two different options. One with an external amp, and one without. If your truck didn't come with the factory amp, then there is no amp signal wire for you to tap into. That is why I'm suggesting going to a radio install shop and find out what they do to hook an aftermarket amp to a factory radio.

that doesn't seem right to me. there's got to be some wire on the harness that turns the radio on/off with the ignition. can you give me a list of what each color is for my car?

Answer

Yes there is an ignition feed, but I thought you were looking for a dedicated amp signal wire. Here's the schematic for the non amplified Bravada. The reason I was confused as to what you wanted is, when aftermarket radios are installed, they usually have an amp signal wire which turns the amp on only when the radio is on. The way you are describing it, your amp will be on all the time when the ignition is on.
