Question

May be electrical, when driving with lights/radio on, temp gage slowly goes towards the red, car then sputters with loss of power, never shuts down, then check engine light comes on. The car is not overheating, readings appear to be false but they are telling the ecu to negatively affect the vehicle from properly running. Replaced: o2 sensor, alternator, ecu (elect control unit), spark plugs, fuel pump relays, fuel pressure and quantity to the fuel pump, flow meter, main relay and fuel pump relay, voltage up from 13.0v to 13.6v by cleaning contact at starter and battery, new battery (Bosch), new catalytic converter, fuel filter. Added, new cd/radio and improved low beams, the low beams were removed, not the problem. This all started when the other battery woudn''t start the car, that battery was only 23 mos old, it was fully charged, after car sat for 7-8 days, it again would not start the car, I had a boost and took the car to Pep Boys, hey replaced with another. Prblms then started

Accepted Answer

check under the intake manifold, there is a connector that tends to collect water and have corrosion . corrosion will give some incorrect values , the temp sensor and various components use this connector .
