I have a 2003 Nissan Murano with the CVT transmission. On hot days and in stop-and-go traffic, I will experience problems with accelerating. There are times where I can have the pedal all the way to the floor and the car will not move for about 5-10 seconds, and then suddenly it will take off. The local Nissan dealer says that I have to replace the transmission, but because I bought the car used from a Toyota dealership, their service contract does not want to pay for it. Does the transmission have to be replaced or can another component be the culprit?
