Question

2000 BMW 740. Intermittent problem. Cranks with no start. After several seconds, I turn key off and then try again. May take several attempts. Getting to be more frequent problem.
No difference hot or cold.
Occasional stalls, even @ 70mph. This problem started at about same time.
No codes set via OBDII.

Cleaned throttle position sensor electrical connections and throttle plate/bore

Accepted Answer

Watch your tach when it stalls. If it drops out quickly just before or as it stalls then you likely have a bad crankshaft sensor. They will also cause a hard start due to lower voltage output so I think that is what is ailing you. When they fail they will not set a code.
