i spent 10,800 dollars on dependant child care in 2007.i had put 1800 dollars in my dependant care fsa account.is there any way i can claim more deductions than the 1800 $.

Hello there,

Yes, when you fill out your 2441, you may use a total of 3000 for one child and 6000 for two children to figure out your credit. The 1800 will be subtracted from the 3000 or the 6000 to figure out the remaining amount that you may use for the credit. So for example, if you had day care expense for 2 children, your credit will be based on $4200, since the other $1800 was paid from pre-tax dollars. The 1800 must be accounted for on the Form 2441.
