Hi XXXXXX. Thank you for asking your question on Just Answer.

Here is the debug/test chart for that particular code, in a PDF file that you should be able to view on your computer and print. This should give you an idea on what needs to be done to troubleshoot this problem.

all of these things have been done even replaced the short harness between the crank sensor and main harness I have been chasing this problem for a week i have heard that you have to get the crank sens to reprogram in the computer . like i have said every thin i have done makes no differnce in the morning i will try to get it to acepte the new crank sensor this is the first one i havent been able to fix i am a ase master tec and this one has me stumped

Hi again,

I checked through the manuals and the Crankshaft Position Sensor Variation Learn procedure is not mentioned until the 2001 model year, when replacing the crankshaft position sensor. 2000 and below just says to replace the sensor.

If you have the tools, you could try reprogramming the PCM. What I would do is check out the rest of the harness going back to the PCM, from end to end.
