Hello, XXXXXXX.

From your description, it sounds like your young kitten may have intestinal parasites. These will cause runny stools and a distended abdomen.

As you can see, there are other parasites, besides worms, which can cause problems for your kitten.

Another possibility is a serious condition called FIP (feline infectious peritonitis), which causes a bloated belly, and unfortunately, it usually does not have a good outcome.

If your kitten is not nursing, and/or has already been introduced to solid kitten food, he may have allergies to some ingredients in the food, especially if it contains corn, wheat, and artificial preservatives or additives, as these are common allergens for cats.

Sometimes, constipation can cause a swollen belly, and liquid stool can leak out around the impaction, so the problem may not be diarrhea, but the opposite.

It would be a good idea to have your little furry fellow evaluated by the vet and have a stool sample analyzed, ASAP. This will reveal many more diagnostic tools for the vet, and as soon as the problem is identified, your kitten will be treated to resolve it.

I hope all will be well!

Cher
