Hello I'm Chris a Certified Engine/Transmission Specialist.
Thanks for asking your question. I am eager to get your vehicle back up and running correct. Be aware it is difficult to fix concerns associated with noises and smells over the net, but I will do my best. Diagrams are often copied from other websites. I am here to help you out for a small fee far less than a dealership and easier on the wallet, so if this information is of aid PLEASE PRESS ACCEPT and help me out financially by paying the small fee (which you selected). Please reply if further discussion is needed.
Labor on this job calls for 3.2 hours which includes bleed and align.
You need to raise the vehicle and remove the wheels and disconnect the tie rod ends from the knuckles then disconnect the steering shaft then disconnect the supply and return lines then disconnect the rack from the cross member and remove. Once installed back in with new line seals you need to fill the system and start the car and turn the wheel bcak and forth to full lock to purge the air out. I also like to pull a vacuum on the reservoir to assist with air removal.
