Hi John,

Have you installed the sound drivers on the vista ?

If yes try one of these reslutions. If that does not please let know what happens.

 

Resolution 1 :-
control panel/system/divice manager/system devices/right click on system devices then clicked on scan for hardware changes

You may have try this twice atleast to see if it works.

If it does not and if you have Vista Beta version you can this link and download the drive from here.

Did you try to restart the computer John ?

And are you using Realtek AC'97 sound device ?
