My 23 year old son has a skin condition that has been diagonosed as Folliculitist. He is taking doxiciline 100 mg twice a day for 8 weeks and it is getting worse and spreading. Is there anything else he can do?? Thanks! Colette Christian

All around the hairline and back of neck and down back and now arms.
Been to two other doctors.
No other diseases

Answer

As doxycycline didnot help after 8 weeks of use he may need to swich to other antibiotic. He needs reevaluation of his condition.

Sometimes addition of local treatment may be needed.

It may be associated with acne also.

You should contact dermatologist.
