Answer

Hello and welcome.

As with this 3.4l engine, the lower intake gaskets have/and are a problem for many years now. The gaskets have been re-designed to correct this condition. The lower intake gaskets leak coolant internally and externally. When internal, it will mix with the oil, and can cause engine bearing problems if not corrected.

The rear headgasket is also a concern for coolant leak.

Front hub bearings have a tendency to become loose. That will cause growling in the front end, and also can cauwe ABS light and codes.

No common transmission problems encountered.

If has power sliding side door(s), these can be very expensive to fix if aver a problem should arise.

Hope this was helpful. If you have any specific areas you would like to know about, dont hesitate to ask.

We just purchased this vehicle with the GMpp waranty and so we feel that any of these concerns should be addressed before the warranty is out. The warranty is good for another 60000km or three years. Do you agree with this statement?

Accepted Answer

Yes. I agree. Any of these concerns would be covered by GMPP.

May want to get the van inspected for these things i listed above after you have driven it for a few weeks and get an overall feel of the van.

Keep your ear listeneing for any growling in the front end, smell/loss of coolant.
