Not really, just a matter of removing the inner door trim panel and then unbolting the handle from the door, after unhooking the linkage. On some of them the rear window run channel get in the way when your trying to connect the linkage, takes some patience and small fingers. Be sure to run a strip of masking tape around the outside handle before you remove the old one to help protect the paint. Door trim instructions below. If you need more help, drop me a note. The special tools are one that looks like a large tack puller, if you use a wide flat blade behind the panel to apply pressure as you pull you can get by with out it. The retainers are plastic push ins and they break ez, but are cheap to replace, sometimes they pull of the trim panel and GM has an epoxy kit to repair them. The other tool is to remove the window crank handle if you have manual windows. If you have problems, let me know. Thanks
Important: Use fasteners that can be reset and reused for the front side door trim panels. Replacement is required if the fasteners were damaged during removal.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
