My 2 year old malamute has a dark discoloration under each of his pupils. What could it be caused by?

If this looks like a dark spot on the white of the eye it may be due to a tumor.

It might also be a pigment spot.
I'd plan on your vet checking it out for you and if they are not sure ask for a referral to a veterinary opthamologist.

Reply to Nancy Holmes's Post: The dark color is just below both pupils and look exactly the same, not consistent with tumor or any of the conditions on the website. So, I'm basically looking at the exact spot on two eyes. It's weird.

It may just be a pigment spot or a 'hole' in the pigment color if its in the iris.

I'd suggest a vet check with a veterinary opthamologist particularly if you are considering breeding this dog.
