If there was a lock or tie, then you should consider her pregnant at this point. If you do not plan on breeding her (as she is a mix I would think this is not something you plan on doing) you can have her spayed and this will take care of this litter and you will never have to deal with this issue again. Of course, you can opt to have the litter, but given her age make sure your vet follows the pregnancy to the end :) Good luck to you no matter what you decide :)

You're very welcome :) The vet can x-ray or ultrasound her to confirm the pregnancy when she is about 50 days in so make your appointment accordingly :) Good luck with her :)

do you have an idea on how many pups this types of dogs have?

Answer

Normally, in smaller breeds like this 2-3 pups is not uncommon but it is possible for them to have more 4-5...but 2-3 is pretty average. :) Below is a site that has a ton of information from explaining the heat cycle all the way to raising puppies :) Add it to your favorites or bookmark it so you can refer back as needed :)

Relist: I still need help.
i call a pet clinic n they told me it was to early to take her in,should i take her somewhere else.

Accepted Answer

Its too early to have her tested for pregnancy..yes, they are absolutely correct. Dog's can not be pregnancy checked until they are 30 days bred and that is only with a blood test called the Relaxin Pregnancy Test. If you want to wait longer, say 50 days into the pregnancy, they can x-ray to see how many pups she is carrying and confirm the pregnancy. :) Personally, I would wait until she is 50 days into the pregnancy and have the x-ray done. That way you will know how many pups to expect and that will make whelping a lot less stressful on you :)

Reply to Gina's Post: ok so i will wait then its just that am nervous because i have kids n they like to play with da dog and i wont want them to hurt her i have a 2 yr old daughter and she is a bit rough i justdnt want nothing bad to happen to my doggie...lik i think she pregnant because her tits r getting swollen.

Answer

Its possible that she is pregnant so she should be treated as if she was pregnant. No rough housing or picking her up by anyone under the age of 18 ;) Just know that even though her mammaries are starting to swell, this could also be a false pregnancy BUT she should be considered pregnant until a vet tells you otherwise. :) Make sure you daughter understands that her dog might have babies and she needs to be soft with her. :) Many toddlers understand babies in the belly and be soft. :) Keep me posted on her progress :)
