I have a MacBook. When I try to make iMovies by dragging mpg movies into the iMovie... when I am done the movie plays but there is no sound even though the sound was on the mpg files. What am I doing wrong?

Hey there XXXXXXX,

Thank you for asking question on JustAnswer.

Mpg files are single tracked, which means both audio and video are not seperate in the .mpeg files, and so when you drag it to iMovie, it just recognized the video part and not the audio. So you will need to first seperate the audio/video tracks, and you will require MPEG Streamline : This link , so after you download the software, seperate audio/video layers, import/drag the video and add audio layer on it.

Reply to Chandrakant's Post: The response I received to my question of how to get audio from an mpg file into my iMovie on my Mac was to download an application. I did so. It did NOT come with any directions and when I open and peruse it trying to figure out how to use it I am confused and frustrated. so I quit.

I responded to this survey/question earlier and was directed to re-submit via "justanswer.com" again with this question if I wanted an answer! That's ridiculous. If you can give me directions, do so and I'll try again. If you cannot then dont ask for payment again..... as it hasn't been earned.
