I am a police officer in iowa. during mandatory training, I hurt my shoulder. The next day it hurt very badily and I could not lift my arm above my head. I went to my docotr who stated that my shoulder was probably strained. I then went to the police dept. and talked with a supervisor who contacted his supervisor. They had me fill out paper work and then submitted it to the HR dept. they denied it stating i did not go to a city doctor and that my doctors visit would be denied as work related. What are my rights in Iowa?
