Hi Glen and welcome to Just answer, Super mechanic here. I just have a question about your Ion.

Did you check all the fuses?

Accepted Answer

You might want to check the ones in the passenger compartment as well. There should be one that powers the feild for the alternator.

Do you have power at the alternator feild wire with the key on?

Is there battery power at the "bat" terminal of the alternator all of the time?

I replaced the #11 fuse even though it looked ok to me.........its too late for now...I appreciate your help.....It said in the owners manual that it(11) was partly for charging. Its got me, I fooled with it all day......I took the alt to a rebuilder and he said it was bad,I bought a rebuilt unit and that didn't work, I know that the regulator has to be hot on one side and its not.....maybe a broken wire, or still a bad fuse or ? I'll check it tommorrow, thanks again and good nite. Glenn
